Carolyn Dixon, LCSW

Carolyn approaches counseling believing: "Your story matters." At this point in your story, you probably desire something to be different. Carolyn's goal is to use her life experience (married 30 plus years and raising four boys), her faith, her education (Master of Science in Social Work from UT), and her clinical experience to help provide solutions in your journey. In addition to her private practice at ALCS, Carolyn worked over ten years as a program therapist at a psychiatric residential treatment center treating troubled teens and helping them reconnect with their families. Because of her sincere burden for helping hurting couples, she pursued specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and has found it to be extremely effective. She is one of the founding directors of the Austin EFT community group. Carolyn understands that every story includes pain. You or someone close to you may be struggling and need help with one or more of the following issues: marriage, divorce recovery, parenting, conflict resolution, anxiety, loneliness, abuse, depression, anger / aggression, addictions, or marriage struggles. Carolyn wants to guide you in this counseling journey, providing wisdom and equipping you with new skills, so that your story will matter in a different you become the best YOU.

Carolyn offers a sliding scale based on income for fee reduction for qualified clients.
