Cathi Jo Heare, MA, LPC
Cathi is a Licensed Professional Counselor and works primarily with adolescents, adults and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, marital issues, and eating disorders.
Cathi’s passion for counseling comes from her desire to provide insight, hope and healing to others. She believes we all live in a broken world where our wounds can begin to direct our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Through a combination of clinical and spiritual principles, however, we can heal from our experiences, challenge our thoughts, and redirect behaviors towards healthier outcomes. Cathi’s clinical approach is reinforced by her belief that we are all a combination of mind, body and spirit. These areas are all in need of compassionate care and supported growth in order to live fulfilling, wholehearted lives. Cathi’s openness and gentleness help her therapeutically partner with clients seeking to make changes.
Cathi earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in Austin and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University. In addition to her work at ALCS, Cathi works at an inpatient treatment facility for patients who struggle with mood disorders and eating disorders. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich Marriage Counseling and HeartSync Inner Healing Prayer.
Cathi and her husband Scott have been married twenty-five years and they have four children, ranging from ages ten to twenty. Their family has served faith communities in San Antonio, Bulverde/Spring Branch, and they currently serve in the Lake Travis area. Cathi has been a part of the ALCS team since 2018.
Cathi offers a sliding scale based on income for fee reduction for qualified clients.
