Cathi Jo Heare, MA, LPC

Cathi’s passion for counseling arises from her strong desire to provide hope, healing, clarity and joy to others. Experienced in working with individuals, couples, and families, Cathi largely relies upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as she seeks to meaningfully integrate Christianity and psychology. Cathi desires to empower others as they grow into the full expression of who they were created to become. She has walked with people through the process of overcoming trauma, processing through grief, challenging irrational thinking, discovering destructive patterns, and coming to a place of self-acceptance.
Cathi graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1994 with a Bachelors of Journalism. She earned a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University in 2015. She is a certified Prepare/Enrich Marriage Counselor, trained in HeartSync, and has helped develop and lead a mental health coalition, Hill Country Hope 4 Mental Health, for the last three years.

Cathi has been married to Pastor Scott Heare for twenty-four years, and together they have four children ranging from ages nine to nineteen. Their family has served church communities in San Antonio, and Bulverde/Spring Branch, and currently serves in the Lake Travis area. While family is her priority, Cathi has also been involved in Women’s Ministries and healing prayer for almost two decades.  She enjoys reading, hiking, and travelling in her free time.

Cathi offers a sliding scale based on income for fee reduction for qualified clients.
