How does a waitlist work?

Once a therapist stops taking new clients, he or she monitors their caseload to assess when it is time to add a new client to their schedule. When that time comes, the therapist will ask administrative staff to put someone on their schedule from the waitlist and administrative staff will begin reaching out to those on the waitlist (in order) to see if they are still interested, giving them 48 hours to respond before moving to the next person. Sometimes the list moves more quickly than others, so it can be guesswork to give a time estimate. However, we would be happy to tell you how many people are currently on the list and to discuss your situation in order to determine whether there might be a great fit for your needs with a shorter wait. We can also suggest alternatives if we cannot care well for your particular situation at this time.
