Julie O'Brien, MA, LPC-Associate
Supervised by: Kerry Williamson, MA, LPC-S, LMFT-S, CST
Julie works with children, teens, and adults struggling with grief, anxiety, depression, autism, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), self-harm, addiction, suicidal ideation, betrayal, divorce recovery, difficulty bonding, broken relationships, and strained parent / child relationships.
Julie’s extensive ministry and life experience have uniquely equipped her to come alongside those who are hurting, providing them the freedom to be as raw as they need to be in order to find peace, no matter their life stage or circumstance. Her ministry and professional experience include 30 years of lay counseling, 12 years of youth ministry, 15 years leading Twelve-Step groups (GriefShare and Celebrate Recovery), 6 years working with special needs, autism spectrum, and preschool students, and 7 years working with victims of human trafficking. While Julie enjoys counseling individuals of all ages, she has a special heart for teens and young adults.
Julie earned her master’s in counseling from B.H. Carroll Theological Seminary and is TBRI trained. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy to unearth hidden traumas and childhood wounds, and TBRI to address attachment needs and fear-based behaviors. Julie sincerely believes that there’s hope for anyone willing to do the inner work of healing through therapy, and it’s her highest honor to walk with them in that journey.
Julie has been married since 1988 and is the proud mom and grandmom of four grown children and one grandchild. She and her husband planted a church in the area in 2002, and when she isn’t working with clients, she is pouring herself into her family and serving her church community.
