Availability of Therapists

Welcome! We’re so glad you stopped by. We are here to answer any questions you have! If you would like more information about our center or availability of a particular therapist, please check out our FAQ page for answers to the most commonly asked questions. If you can't find the information you need there, give us a call and we'd be happy to help!  Please be advised that due to the current high demand for mental health professionals, some of our therapists are unable to accept new clients at this time, so the availability that appears when you visit this link is only for current clients. However, we would love to serve you, and it is very likely that we have someone on staff that could be a great fit for you with a shorter wait or no wait at all. If we do not have someone on staff who is able to meet your current need, we can either refer you to a resource outside of our office, or put you on a waitlist to become a new client in your preferred therapist's caseload when a slot becomes available.

You may be thinking, "But there is an appointment time that shows up as available on the portal. Why can't I have that one?"
Great question! At ALCS, providing top quality service for our clients is our number one priority. We want to make sure that those who have entrusted their stories and their care to us receive our very best. That means that we want them to be able to have adequate appointment times from which to choose, and it also means that each therapist must monitor their own bandwidth to ensure that they can be at their best when they are with their clients.

You may be wondering, "So if I decide to get on a waitlist, how long will it take before I can see the therapist my friend told me I should go see?"
That depends. For some therapists who have a long history with ALCS and have a well established name and reputation, it may be many, many months. For other therapists who are newer to our center, there may be immediate availability or only a short wait. For more information, click here.

New Clients

"I'm interested in counseling, but I'm not sure where to start. What should I do?"
A great place to begin is to check out our FAQ page. Most of your questions can be answered there. If your questions aren't answered on our FAQ page or you'd like help determining which counselor would best fit your needs,  give us a call at 512-258-5100 and we'd be happy to help!

"If the therapist I  would like to see is accepting new clients, what are next steps?"

1 - In order to create your file, we will need the client(s)' name, date of birth, contact information (phone number, email address) and preferred type of automated reminder (text, email, or both).

2 - If  your preferred therapist is accepting new clients, you may check available times online and email the time you would like to reserve, along with the information needed to create your file to [email protected] to request an appointment at that time. Our office administrator will block that appointment out temporarily, and then reach out to you to confirm your appoinment. If you would prefer to communicate by phone, please include your phone number in your email, and we will be happy to call and answer your questions. We can also discuss scheduling options with you, but if you are able to check availability beforehand and determine times you are interested in, that would be very helpful.

3 - Once your requested time is confirmed, we will send you an invitation to our portal and a welcome packet to prepare for your appointment.

We look forward to talking with you soon!
